Hey, no US president has solved the Middle Eadt situation. So how is it the Bush is a moron because he couldn't do it either? And here's a prediction. Obama won't be able to solve the crisis either.
Okay. You're right that no President has solved the problem. But no one has made the problem even more complicated than it had been before.
Bush, with his blind idealism, insisted that the Palestinians have Democratic elections. But while International Politics 101 tells you no two democracies ever fight each other, the truth is that the conditions weren't right for elections. It seems like Bush's flow chart of possible scenarios never included a "Hamas wins election, then kicks Fatah out of Gaza." So if I take into account the usual lack of forward-thinking Bush has become famous for, I have to agree with the woman on the right.
And as for Obama--we'll have to see, I guess. I see from reading your latest post that you don't have much faith in Hamas. Fair enough. But just like any group that wants to stay in control of a people, Hamas will have to sit down and negotiate with Israel and with the US if Palestinians in Gaza see that as a solution, which they might see with a more hands-on US involvement.
No Bush is not a Moron because Bush couldn't solve the problems in the Middle East, Bush is a Moron because his actions have labeled him exactly that... A Moron.
As for Obama your right he won't be able to solve it and at this point Im not sure anyone really cares. Obama needs to fix right here first.
I agree that Obama needs to fix the US before he does anything else, but on the other hand, when France and Egypt step up to propose a cease fire agreement it makes the US look weak. This country spends too much money to keep its power in that region to just let it go to Europe.
